Aaron’s research topic is "Assessing the sustainability of pension reforms in Europe " The sustainability of pension reforms has usually been assessed in terms of the impact reforms have on fiscal spending projections. Using a broader definition of sustainability, this research aims at understanding the impact of recent pension reforms in European countries on the likely achievement of pension system goals - namely poverty alleviation and consumption smoothing, and understand the interplay with financial sustainability and intergenerational balance.

  • socio-economic sustainability of the pension reform process
