Scientific Associate, DiW, Berlin and Visiting Fellow, CASE

STICERD ,  External

Fellow of the College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research WWW

Ludovica is studying childcare, and in particular the reasons why workers in childcare have low pay. Her analysis uses a gender perspective and is set in the context of family change and of the restructuring balance between family, market and state in the provision of care. By focusing on the position of childcare workers, the research is concerned with the issues of access and status in paid employment available to women. Specifically, Ludovica looks at childcare workers in England in the last fifteen years using both large datasets and interviews. Supervisors: Professor Jane Lewis, Professor David Piachaud
