Professor Kinoshita is visiting Britain under the auspices of the Japanese Embassy. He has worked for many years for the Export-Import Bank of Japan (now the Japan Bank for International Cooperation) until retiring in 1996. Professor Kinoshita has sat on numerous key economic committees, and acted as economic adviser to a number of Asian governments. He has been affiliated to both the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Harvard Institute of International Development, and he has written a number of articles on the Japanese and Asian economies.
