The Japanese Studies Programme involves work on Japanese economic, business and political development and the organisation of occasional lectures and seminars on Japanese economic, political and social history. The series of International and Japanese Studies Symposia also continues to devote much of its attention to Japan.
Dr Hunter works on the pre-War Japanese economy, and Professor Nish on Japan's political and diplomatic history.
