Since the beginning of the pandemic, Black and Minority Ethnic groups have been at the sharp end of the impact of the virus. With higher infection and mortality rates, BME groups have been hit hardest in economically, socially and fatally. In a year where the killing of George Floyd rocked the world and the Black Lives Matter movement gained increasing traction, it is time to ask why government policies are still failing BME groups. How in 2020 can 'race' still be a social determinant of health?
