CASE Annual Report 2022
Published 5 April 2023
We are delighted to share with you our annual report for 2022 which this year is a bumper edition. In September we celebrated our 25th birthday with a special event to mark the occasion and this year’s annual report is mainly devoted to contributions from that event. Nine of the articles in this report celebrate the work and legacy of John Hills, CASE co-founder and Centre Director from 1997-2016, covering a diverse range of topics on housing, pensions, fuel poverty, economic inequality, poverty and the welfare state. Other articles cover inequality, disadvantage, policy evaluation and 25 years of LSE Housing and Communities. We also report on a lively panel discussion which considered whether current concepts of poverty provide the optimal basis for monitoring poverty and developing solutions. We invited back a few CASE alumni and they told us how their time at CASE influenced their careers and the way they approach their work. We also include an overview of 25 years of our work on Knowledge Exchange and Impact, summarised by three REF impact case studies. Finally, there are updates from our staff, PhDs, and associates, and summaries of publications and events from the past year. We hope you enjoy this celebration of CASE's research stretching back over 25 years.
