Inclusive data: better data and evidence to understand the lives, circumstances and needs of children and young people from the Gypsy, Traveller and Roma communities

This research report provides open access to the findings of the project `Testing and demonstrating the value of the Growing Up in England (GUiE) dataset: Gypsy, Traveller and Roma children case study?. The research was funded supported by ADR UK (Administrative Data Research UK), an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) investment (part of UK Research and Innovation) [Grant number: 106391.R.000.1002.1128]. Supplementary funding for engagement outputs was received from the LSE knowledge exchange and impact support fund. Applications to use the GUiE dataset were made to the ONS Research Assessment Panel (RAP) and to the Department for Education. Analysis of the GUiE dataset was undertaken under Digital Economy (2017) regulated conditions in the ONS Secure Research Service (SRS). Ethics approval for the research was provided by the LSE Research Ethics Committee (reference numbers: 20005 and 94267). Ethics review of the research was also undertaken by the National Statisticians Data Ethics Committee (see: NSDEC Minutes and Agenda, April 2021, UK Statistics Authority).
