Building Sustainable Communities: Learning from interviews with stakeholders

Published 25 November 2025
This report presents findings from interviews with 75 stakeholders working across ten low-income neighbourhoods across England. This is the second publication in a series of reports summarising our current research into the areas. The research revisits the neighbourhoods included in CASE’s Areas Study carried out between 1998 and 2008. It explores how these communities have changed since 2008, assesses their social, economic, and environmental sustainability, and explores how stakeholders and residents feel about their neighbourhoods and how the areas could be improved.
