distout and svydistout: Help file to accompany Stata programmes for undertaking distributional analysis of continuous outcome variables
Published 25 January 2022
Downloadable STATA programmes and accompanying help files for estimating a range of distributional statistics for any continuous variable (e.g. earnings, equivalised household disposable income) overall and for each of the groups specified by any variable included in the variable list (such as gender, age group, socio-economic status). The programmes undertake both cross-sectional and over time distributional analysis and also allow analysis to be undertaken by sub-population groups thus enabling intersectional research. Both a non-survey design and survey design version of the programme are available (distout and svdistout respectively). Results are automatically saved in an excel file.
