Research by three STICERD professors has been featured in the 2025 Economic Report of President Biden, underscoring the global relevance of LSE research in shaping economic policy. Professor Oriana Bandiera with co-author UCL’s Imran Rasul, “Social Capital in the Workplace,” emphasises the economic significance of workplace relationships. The report also highlights Professor Camille Landais’ paper, “Should We Insure Workers or Jobs During Recessions?” co-authored with LSE alumna Giulia Giupponi (Bocconi) and visiting LSE Economics student Alice Lapeyre (CREST), which examines strategies for economic resilience.  Professor Xavier Jaravel’s work on “Distributional Consumer Price Indices” provides insights into the intersection of inflation and inequality.

The 2025 Economic Report of the President, released by the Council of Economic Advisers under Chair Jared Bernstein, highlights the economic progress made during the Biden-Harris Administration and addresses key domestic and global policy challenges. The report reviews achievements over the past four years and provides a decade-long economic forecast. It examines the rise of remote work, the implementation of the Global Tax Deal, and efforts to expand affordable health insurance. Additionally, it outlines strategies to achieve a net-zero CO2 emissions economy, explores trends in international capital flows, and analyzes the challenges in the U.S. K-12 education system, including educator shortages. The report underscores the Administration's focus on inclusive growth, sustainability, and resilience in the face of global and domestic challenges.
