Many of our seminars and public events this year will continue as in person or as hybrid (online and in person) events. Please check our website listings and Twitter feed @STICERD_LSE for updates.
Unless otherwise specified, in-person seminars are open to the public. Please ensure you have informed the event contact as early as possible.
Those unable to join the seminars in-person are welcome to participate via zoom if the event is hybrid.
About this event
I am going to present mainly correlations suggesting that the link between natural gas and electricity markets has become a lot stronger. This interdependence is driven by a distinct supply shift due to increases in natural gas production through the use of fracking and the adoption of renewable sources for power generation. Both developments taken together generate spatial and temporal variation in the first two moments of the natural gas price distribution that I am to exploit to study firm responses.
STICERD Work in Progress seminars are held on Fridays in term time at 13:00-14:00, ONLINE, unless specified otherwise.
Seminar organisers: Philip Barteska and Alix Bonargent
