About this event
What are the effects of the pandemic on workers in low paid occupations? Drawing on research funded by the Standard Life Foundation and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, this talk presents findings on the effects of the pandemic on low paid employees from analysis of Labour Force Survey responses and online vacancy data from Adzuna. Even though the headline Labour Force Survey measures suggest that the pandemic has had little impact on the labour market overall, this more detailed analysis finds that the crisis is so far having far greater impacts on low paid workers than on others. Data on vacancies from the online advert search platform Adzuna provide information about the near-term employment prospects by occupation in the UK labour market.
