The Japanese Studies Programme is concerned with the study of Japanese economics, business and political development. Currently, their research focuses on the pre-war Japanese economy, Japan's political and diplomatic history, and on the international history of Japan and East Asia. The programme runs occasional special events and seminars on Japanese economic, political and social history.
