About this event

This seminar examines whether social progress across critical areas of life has slowed down and stalled in the second decade of the 21st century. The seminar presents findings from the first work-stream of the Social Policies and Distributional outcomes in a Changing Britain (SPDO) research programme, funded by Nuffield Foundation, which examines the evolution of inequalities in outcomes across multidimensional domains, by characteristics including age, gender, disability, ethnicity, socio-economic group and area, over the first two decades of the 21st century. Presentations by John Hills, Polina Obolenskaya, Polly Vizard, Kerris Cooper and Kritty Treebhoohun will bring together our findings for the living standards domain (on inequalities in economic outcomes and child poverty) with findings for the physical safety / security and health domains, and new analysis of social attitudes. Please see the agenda below for further information.
