CASE Social Exclusion Seminars

Repeat performances: SEND, Exclusions and minority young people

Sally Tomlinson (Goldsmiths London)

Wednesday 09 March 2022 16:30 - 18:00

This event will take place online.

About this event

This talk discusses the long history of children and young people from minority (especially Black Caribbean) backgrounds excluded from mainstream schooling. From the ESN scandals of the 19760s and 1970s to the numbers of young people excluded from mainstream schools into various kinds of alternative provision in the 2020s, the failure of the system to educate all young people remains a scandal.
