Current ProgrammesArtificial Intelligence and Sustainable DevelopmentThe programme focuses on understanding and evaluating the deployment of AI technologies and prevalent algorithmic approaches with a focus on the enhancement of human capability. Economic Development in Palanpur, A North Indian VillageThe sixth and seventh rounds of study of Palanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India - led by Nicholas Stern - examine a perspective from seven decades of economic development in this north Indian village. Environment Sustainability and Climate ChangeThe India Observatory works with the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and the Bangalore Climate Change Initiative - Karnataka to develop research and programmes related to India on this theme. Fiscal Policies and Governance of Financial InstitutionsThis research programme focuses on the current state of governance and stability of financial institutions across the world, with a particular reference to Indian financial institutions. This collaborative research is by Ruth Kattumuri and Rachita Gulati. Sustainable Human Capital DevelopmentThis programme focuses on skilling for human capital development by identifying the link between up-skilling, upward economic mobility and equitable economic development. This programme is led by Ruth Kattumuri. Urbanisation, Infrastructure and GovernanceThe LSE India Observatory and the University of Hyderabad, India, partnered jointly on this project. The research was supported by a grant from UKIERI. Past ProgrammesLSE-TISS CollaborationThe Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and London School of Economics and Political Science research collaboration, supported by the Jamsetji Tata Trust, was launched at LSE on 26th June 2007. Growth and InclusionThe project on Sustaining Growth and Promoting Inclusion in India aimed to enhance the understanding of India's growth process, the role of greater inclusion in driving and the sustaining growth and ability of growth to benefit all sections of society. Reserve Bank of IndiaWorkshops on topics related to Central Banking and Financial markets. Confederation of Indian IndustryAn MoU was signed with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to promote knowledge and exchange programmes to facilitate interaction on innovations and business practices. Institute for Financial Management and ResearchAn MoU was signed with the Institute for Financial Management and Research (IFMR) in March 2005. The MoU was intended to recognise the general basis for a cooperative and collaborative academic relationship between IFMR and LSE. |
