Ruth's latest projects include:
- Social Policy in a Cold Climate: A programme of linked quantitative analyses to assess the effects of recession, spending changes, policy reform in the UK, 2007-2014, with a particular focus on their impacts on distribution, poverty, inequality and spatial differences (2011-2015)
- Postcode Discrimination in Employment: An investigation of job search for young people from disadvantaged neighbourhoods in three local labour markets, including a test for ‘postcode discrimination’.
- School Contexts, Quality and Performance: Current work includes a quantitative analysis of measures of school context, a new look a theorising the ways in which context affects organisational processes, and a collaboration with Leeds Metropolitan University and the City of Leeds ‘Leading Learning Project’ to apply the work in teachers’ continuing professional development.
