About this event
This conference organised by LSE's Hayek Programme and the University of Bologna explores the intersection of political economy, culture, and narratives from a historical perspective.
Organised by: LSE’s Hayek Programme and University of Bologna
Keynote Speakers: Raquel Fernández and Noam Yuchtman
Conference Organisers: Adam Brzezinski, Carmine Guerriero, Melanie Meng Xue
The study of culture has become an essential area of inquiry within political economy and economic history, providing insights into the evolution of political institutions and the economy. More recently, the analysis of narratives has started to offer new perspectives on mechanisms behind policy shifts and economic change.
This conference explores the intersection of political economy, culture, and narratives from a historical perspective. A focus on history is essential for the analysis of long-term trends and dynamics, enabling a deeper understanding of how narratives and cultural values shape and are shaped by economic and political developments.
PhD Session: The conference will also include a session for PhD students to present their work.
