About this event
This workshop brings together scholars working at the intersection of democratic theory and formal political theory.
The organising group—Richard Bradley, Alex Voorhoeve, Kai Spiekermann and Suzanne Bloks share a research focus on normative and analytical questions surrounding democratic decision-making. Topics covered by the group include electoral systems, voting power, and models of deliberation. The workshop will feature contributions from both formal and non-formal approaches to democratic theory, but participants are expected to have an interest in or affinity for formal methods. The programme includes work that combines normative insight with formal rigor, particularly research engaging with issues in social choice and voting theory.
