About this event

A new report for the Spanish government presents offers a different future for how people can influence decisions about their workplaces, and for how companies are governed and owned.  The report of the  International High-Level Expert Committee on Democracy at Work  is an important new policy-oriented study of how concentrations of wealth and power can be challenged by democratising the ownership and management of companies and wealth.

Its proposals include statutory requirements for minimum worker representation on company boards, a right for workers to shape and consent to the deployment of AI at work, minimum thresholds for share ownership by workers, and the establishment of new Citizens' Funds that will gradually develop majority holdings in medium and large companies.

Isabelle Ferreras, and Benjamin Braun, co-author the report and will present and discuss their findings at an informal seminar and lunch of the Alternatives to Capitalism research cluster of the Programme on Cohesive Capitalism  The seminar will cover the implications of their findings and how they might be applied to contexts outside of Spain.
