Wednesday 14 June 2023 - Friday 16 June 2023
Many of our seminars and public events this year will continue as in person or as hybrid (online and in person) events. Please check our website listings and Twitter feed @STICERD_LSE for updates.
Unless otherwise specified, in-person seminars are open to the public. Please ensure you have informed the event contact as early as possible.
Those unable to join the seminars in-person are welcome to participate via zoom if the event is hybrid.
About this event
The goal of the symposium is to provide a forum for high-quality work in public economics and to bring together economists in the field from across Europe as well as key researchers from outside the region.
This year’s symposium pays special attention to research on the topic of wealth and capital taxation with the support of STICERD, the Institute for Fiscal Studies and the James M. and Cathleen D. Stone Centre on Wealth Concentration, Inequality and the Economy, at UCL Economics.
The keynote speaker will be Joel Slemrod from Michigan University.
Confirmed speakers include Fatih Guvenen, Magne Mogstad, Clara Martinez-Toledano, Florian Scheuer, Luigi Pistaferri, Ludwig Straub, Owen Zidar and Eric Zwick.
The event provides an opportunity for researchers from different universities and countries to discuss their work in a relaxed and collegial atmosphere and to develop long-term collaborative relationships. It also provides an opportunity for young researchers to meet and discuss their work with senior economists.
The conference brings together around 40 economists for three days. To foster the desired interaction we ask that participants stay for the entire duration of the symposium.
The programme is available here.
If you are interested in attending, please contact Mark Mc Gee, Events Officer at CEPR by 22 May.
