The Multidimensional Inequality Framework (MIF) provides a systematic approach to measuring and analysing inequalities across the key aspects of life which overall determine the capability for people to enjoy a good quality of life. People’s health, education, family life, personal safety and their ability to participate in decision-making are some of the important dimensions that allow them to flourish. Some people are subject to discrimination, state violence, made to work in unsafe conditions, denied the right to a voice in local affairs, while others enjoy advantage and privilege through strong political influence, elite education, greater access to the top jobs and enhanced legal security.
