Housing Plus Academy
The Housing Plus Academy was founded in November 2015 at Trafford Hall, as a knowledge-exchange partnership with LSE Housing and Communities, the National Housing Federation and the Chartered Institute of Housing, with housing associations contributing sponsorship on a yearly basis towards the cost of running the Housing Plus Academy.
Topics cover the wider social, economic and environmental aspects of providing low cost rented homes. The Academy organises workshops, Think Tanks and roundtables for social housing practitioners, policymakers, frontline staff, and residents.
Each Think Tank/workshop involves research, programme development, policy links, marketing, recruitment, speaker briefings, and reporting.
We produce informative briefings in preparation for each event, a resource pack for every participant, and handouts from panel presenters. We collect key points from table discussions, action planning proposals and key messages to government to write up Headline Reports for government, policymakers and supporters.
Around 2000 participants have attended over 40 Housing Plus events since 2015 and our work has had major impacts on policy and practice.
Since 2019, Housing Plus Academy events have taken place at the London School of Economic whilst Trafford Hall is temporarily closed.
